Application-

Used on Slideways, Guides and couplings, wheel crowns, Shafts and wheels, Sprockets, carrier and track rollers, idiers of earth moving equipment, crane wheels, pinions and gears, tail bars, wobbler ends of rolls and couplers in steel plants and sugar mills, girth gears of cement mills and power stations and supporting rollers of kiln tires. Important applications are gear teeth, rail ends and crossing, shaft, mill guide plates, pulley, Rope winches, Brake drums, clutches, wheel, axles, couplings, sprockets, pinion etc.

Description-

Before welding remove oil and grease. Clean weld area by gouging or grinding to remove cracks or worn fatigued surface of components. Use electrode on AC/DC + at the lowest amps. Maintain short arc and chip slag between passes. Electrode can be weaved 1.5 to 2 times its diameter. Peen deposits while hot. Preheat is usually not necessary unless very heavy sections are involved.
